    Golden Retriever Pup

Our Black Labrador had to be put down in 2016 (stroke).
Just before Christmas we took delivery of a beautiful Golden Retriever bitch puppy. To be specific she is 75% Retriever and 25% Black Lab.
Rosie is 16 weeks old now so yesterday I said to my wife, "It's probably about time I started to teach her to retrieve rabbits." She replied, "This dog is not going hunting with you! This is a companion dog for me, while you are away hunting!!!!"
Naturally is was a bit shocked! I even thought about sending her back!? But then I thought, "Nah! We've been married 37 years, I'll probably keep her!?"

its possibly not such a bad thing...Willie was half retriever and it took 3 years almost to the day before he decided working was a good idea, before that it just didnt seem to click.
sounds like ideal excuse for you to bring home a different pup just for hunting..fairs fair and all that.
    75/15/10 black powder matters

Yea, best keep her.......better the devil you know and all that.
A bit of "on the quiet" training with a rabbit skin or bit of old deer skin, and a long length of rope, will have her well prepared. With that pedigree she shouldn't be to hard to get going

Bos, you read my mind! I've already stashed a couple of lucky rabbits feet around the garden! LOL
