in a single shot Match rifle a 6mm Rem / 6mm Rem AI is the better option better velocity much longer barrel life,
If you don't mid a bit of weight a 6mm Rem built on a Mauser 98 action is better than a .243 any day of the week or if a fan of the Tikka T3 the 6mm Rem feeds better than the .243 and handles 100 grain
    projectiles better and faster,
If you only want to shoot bullets up to 90 grains the 6mm will fit in a Sako 75/85 .243/7mm08/.308 action,
You may guess I am a 6mm Rem fan I have owned 3 still have 1, also have owned 4 .243's they never shot as good as the 6mm Rem kept trying to find a .243 that would out shoot my 6mm have given up and necked the cases up to 7mm08
243Win has better brass options. Does anyone actually make 6mm Rem brass anymore?
243Win has better options period. I can by a 243Win in any brand of anything whenever I want. Shit I can even buy them in LH
243Win feeds just fine. Why would it feed better or worse than any -08 variant?
A bigger powder load pushed through the same dia hole is faster....... but barrels are longer lasting? .............really?
243Win is on the shelf at your local gunshop.
243Win kills stuff well (if you point it in the right place).
243Win is softer to shoot (the main reason of the article, not speed or barrel life).
0.5% of us shoot "matches" so most do care about a bit of weight (check out every second post on here, lightweight is the new black)
Every 243Win/AI I have owned or know shot well, so we are now 50:50 on opinions.
Barrel twist will determine what weight you can shoot, not the bit of brass left behind. My 243AI shot 105 pills all day and the only heavier available (without some painful US ordering ordeal) was the 107SMK which I didnt care for. Im sure a 1:8 243Win will do the same.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
