There is this wonderful old book published in 1972 by Matt & Bruce Grant called "The Sharp Shooter". I'm fortunate to have a first edition.
I've been re-familiarising myself with it's musty old pages, and came upon this, which I still use as a guide even today (I will risk being sued by the publishers')
I have always remembered "strong breeze, 10mph", and based my rather rough judgements around that, and build the 10mph into my ballistic charts. I limit myself to under 500 yards though, which I strictly adhere to no matter the calibre.
