    High wind practice

So I finally got set up to learn estimating and shooting in high cross wind situations,my coach is the prez of our Deerstalkers who is helping me with the estimation of wind and learning how to make more accurate wind judgements without any aids.It will be a good learning process and it wont happen over night either, ive set up An 8" and 6" plate out at 340 yards in the video Vince calls it a 10" plate but its an 8".Today I shot in a 90deg cross wind and I had estimated 6min's of wind with guidance from Vince but in reality it was about 5min's, I was using my 260 AI shooting 140 A Max's down range at 2858fps elevation was 5MOA and I used holdover for wind.Bloody good fun I only shot 6 shots due to time resrictions(kids driving Vince up the wall)but It was such a good learning shoot and I am able to see myself just how good the 6.5's are in the wind.Vince had reckond 15" of holdover by converting my guess of 6min's but I was only using 12" of holdover to hit the target and my elevation was spot on but hitting the plate centre left, naturaly my goal is correct guessing and first round hits in high winds on these small plates.I videoed it ......very amature at that only watch it if your not bored easily........and by the way blondie in this video is Vinces lab pup just incase you guys thought I was getting rewarded from blondie for hitting the targets

    Good work Neckshot.

We had that wind down at Seddon yesterday afternoon. 300m - kinda interesting, was going full value left to right downrange, all between 10h00 and 14h00 from the shooters position.

I learn something every time I shoot in the wind
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
