    Hoppes

Well my bottle ran out a month or so ago and I bought a new big bottle.
    ITS COMPLETE CRAP!

The old stuff I would poke a wet patch threw after a range session and a day or two or a week later push a tight dry patch threw and out of the 303 there would be a heap of copper, another wet patch and back in safe till next used.

The new stuff doesn't even smell like it used to and doesn't seem to touch copper fouling at all.

Yes I can and do use a copper solvent but it used to be so easy with not often used rifles.

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Hoppes was my cleaner of choice for decades then I was given some Boretech Eliminator to try, have been using that ever since
Sorry to hear about the demise of Hoppes.

Are you taking about hoppes #9 ? Bugger. I've still got a half bottle of the good smelling stuff that turns patches blue with copper.

10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

use sparingly and savor it, unless you know of some old stock and in that case hook me up!

I'll use mine carefully. No better perfume than the old Hoppes Ode-de-gun-cabinet.

Yes an old gunsmith friend told me years ago that it was good for 3 months, in my experience a little longer doesn't
hurt, just put a wet patch through every few months if you don't want to do the long term thing,
Bummer if Hoppes have changed the formula I have half a 32oz bottle left will have to test some other products for a replacement.

I've got a bot of the new synthetic hopes and it does have the smell still. Another sort doesn't but never fear at Sinclair you can get a little air freshener with just the smell for your car or man cave.
