    I bent a piece of reinforcing rod in a C shape and hung the plate from bolts on a piece of old climbing rope. That allows stretch so impact doesn't snap it like chains do. The figure 8 knots give a bit of bulk so centre of gravity is offset and it angles down. I slide the ropes off the rod for transport and carry them in a small sack. Wash your hands after touching the gong as it will be covered in lead.
