I clean my 22s every 500 rounds or so, just run a few patches with boretech C4 to remove the carbon fouling.
Usually I'll clean the chamber at the same time to reduce a carbon ring forming.
Centrefire gets cleaned after every outing, just oil on the outside and some oily patches through the bore.
I never bother going crazy cleaning the bore, even after 80+ rounds, just clean out the carbon to stop it building.
If I shoot in the rain I'll take the action out of the stock and do a thorough clean.
If it's been really wet I'll disassemble the bolt and clean that too.
My shotgun is lucky if it even gets an oily rag on the outside.
