Thread: Invercargill shooting

Hello everyone!
So, now that I have moved to "InverVegas" I am wondering if we have any of the member in Invercargill who like to shoot targets at long ranges, as I said before, I am new in town and will also like information regards deerstalkers, long range/bench rest shooting style and pistol club too(I am new to pistol and know the hard yards I have to go).

Used to do most of my shooting on a farm out the back of dacre. Think there a patch on wood bit further north at the picnic area and doc loop track

That might be the Dunsdale @223nut is talking about; a hunter (firearm bearing optimist in shorts n gumboots I believe) was temporarily confused (i.e. lost) up there recently.

I've heard of deer being shot up there but it'll be busy w campers at the moment.

That's the one, think there are pylons in places as well

I believe dunsdale gets hunted a fair bit being so close to town,i've shot a deer and got a pig out of there.
yes, the area will be chokka with campers right now.

Could be the place for a bit of Long range gong ringing if there's not too many animals around

Hi everyone, thank you kindly for the info it is very much appreciated, right now I am interested in a place where I can only and solely shoot some targets at close and preferable long range, hunting unfortunately is out of the menu for me till I get better with my back.
I would prefer a place where I could "kind of" hook up with a "please" phone call or a place where I can access safely and fire "few" shots, some keen long range farmers, etc.
Anyway, very thankful for all the replies they are appreciated.
