    Kaitoke Range

I just joined the Hutt Valley Deer Stalkers Association, I enquired about a key to the range and was advised to hold off until ANZAC day when they change the lock.

Is it ok for me to walk up there and sight a rifle in or should I wait until I get a key?
Also whats the best target frame to bring? Ive got stacks of A3 paper printed on one side but obviously need something to hold it from the sounds of it?

Im a bit stuck attending meetings because I have to go to apprentice night school on the same night.

Yeah just walk up. It's not that far. You need a free standing target, you'll struggle to knock anything into the ground up there right now.

Well if you've got a payment reciept then you've paid I reckon that's fine. Ring a committee member if you aren't 100%

I just walk up, apparently 800m but it always seems to go by quickly.
You will receive a card in the mail but I can't remember how long it took mine last year. Receipt of payment should be enough for any doubters

Old real estate signs made of corflute are good for stapling targets to and easy to make a frame to stand up too...

I was just thinking of taking a cardboard box flatpacked and tapong targets on but thats a good idea once I get a key and can drive up.

    You can walk in.

Also you can get a key off a locksmith in Silverstream or some such.
