Now that's a weapon, two probs, bush and ute, how the Fark do you
That is insane I am sure I could see the guy getting slid backwards from the recoil of it each time he fired the bloody thing.
Hows the shoulder? Thats a big ass cannon.
That was awesome.
Bulpup it!
Strictly speaking, that's an artillery piece. Love the sound of the bolt - sounds like like the lock of a dungeon door.
small arms (in a military sense) are defined as all weapons capable of firing a projectile from 20mm in diameter and below, so I would class it as a small arm, not an artillery piece.
Depends on who you speak to and how one defines artillery I guess. In the US military anything below 20mm in calibre is classed as a small arm.
I was of the understanding that arms of 20mm calibre or greater could be classed as artillery? E.g. a 20mm in the AA role becomes "AAA". According to NATO the definition of artillery is a piece that isn't man portable and is less than 50mm in calibre. Wikipedia has a category that lists artillery by calibre. The smallest is 20mm. Confusing...
The UN classifies a small arm as a weapon "designed for individual use". Whilst that rifle might be fired by one person, it'd need at least a two-man team to carry and operate it in the field so could possibly be classed
as a crew-served weapon.
EDIT: "Originally artillery was any group of infantry primarily armed with projectile weapons. Since the development of cannon, the word "artillery" in practice has largely meant cannon; in contemporary usage it usually refers to shell-firing guns, howitzers, mortars, and rockets." (wiki)
Perhaps not artillery in a contemporary sense then :oh noes:
as with everything it's open to interpretation, some of those 50 cal rigs are hardly 1 man portable but still a small arm. at the end of the day I'd purchase a 20mm for long range hunting if I could afford one.

Would need a mahoosive safe or a strong room for one of those bad boys! Mind you, it'd be A category so could probably just chain it to something with a bike lock. :P
if it's anything like the military 50 cals it should have a removable barrel, otherwise I'd be building a big gun room. feeding it might be a tad expensive.

Ja it has a take down barrel... I see it's also available in 14.5mm Russian and a proprietary 20-50 calibre... Looking at this further, seems as if they've copied the South African NTW-20 to some extent in the interchangeable calibres (also 20mm / 14.5mm).
The SA'n option is POA though.
in other words if you have to ask what the price is you can't afford it.
Iv got a 20mm dummy round here if anyone needs it for chambering, my charge will be one shot with it, with a live round:D
Holy crap, what a woman! Oops I mean what a weapon! I had to move the computer back from it just to fit it in the screen.
:P
What a Beast of a gun .
And it is a gun not an "Artillery piece" , because it is a "direct fire" weapon and only meant for use in an anti material role (if it was a millitary weapon).
