@stagstalker any chance there was a downdraft wind effect on your elavation when doing the trueing at 650 Yards? IE wind flowing down a slope?

I had a chinesse made scope,dialed 50 clks up,resulting group of shots was 450 mm there abouts instead of 50cm.Each clk worked out at 9.1mm clk.My american Millet scope was perfect over a 36 inch drop.

From reading above using the Z5 as MOA dial might be a slight variation, does the ballistic app correct for this, or is this also the case,

The kestrel should allow custom adjustment per click. Once thats set correctly use clicks rather than MOA or MILS and should work ok.

Chart showing tracking test results. Guess some just aren't what they cracked up to be.

The problem may be that kestrels cal mv should be done within 10% of mach 1.2 (as you said over 900 odd metres)

This is not practical for most of us hunters. I have done cal mv at 500m for a couple of different rounds (similar ballistics to your 260) which may interest you.

Eldx chronoed @2679fps did not require any adjustment.

Sako factory ammo chronoed @2655fps was way off. Walking rounds down I got on target and calibrated the mv at a whopping 2990fps.

Both cal mvs were done within minutes of each other so environment is not a factor.

I'm happy that the curve I have created out to 500m is close enough that any problems with it are hidden by my own shooting ability.

Long way of trying to say; don't read too much into the calibrated mv as the drop chart produced in the end will be solid enough

Oh and that's the same rifle / scope and shooter for both rounds.
