    Long Range 22LR Shooting Video

This is a promo video taken at a long range 22LR field target shoot (jungle lane) late last year.

It was an awesome day and i hope there will be more of this type of shoot coming up.

    Enjoy

To be clear this is not a video of mine. It was produced by Indiefilm out of Hamilton.

Yep that is a nightforce alright. Targets were from 40m to about 180m on the day. Plan was to take them to 200m. The majority of targets were between 70m and 120m.

With zerostop no less? Everything fun, shooting comp/sport wise is done in the NI. We need to address the issue down this way I reckon.

Pretty sure he took that off his 6.5mm f-class rifle and put it on the 22LR for this competition.

Scout group was there with their parents. Inexpereinced or unlicensed competitors were squaded with experienced shooters to either just help them out or in some cases to share rifles and ammunition. Was a lot of fun. The guy running the event had to ask people to leave after about 6pm as they were happy to stay on and shoot! About 30 odd competitors there on the day. The 2" disk movers were fun in the wind. I was aiming behind the target and the wind was blowing my bullet into it!

Ha Ha maybe? As long as he is not allowed to shoot? Na, we have excellent clay target stuff, but bugger all for the riflemen in the south. Not sure if you can even shoot F-class in the SI? Lets face it Trentham is not the nicest place to visit and shoot

To many bad memories for me, pounding up those hills because my boots were not polished to some jumped up pouge's, camp soldier standards

Ha! Did not know that. Is it all rattle gun stuff (done enough of that, even in Dunedin) or like what Gillie does up north?

Yep i am hearing good things about the Bruce Rifle club. They have people down there that are moving with the times i.e. not trying to push the same old shooting competitions to a new generation with new technology.

F-class, service rifle, UKD long range precision, etc. All kinds of stuff. I've only been a member for a couple of weeks so far.

F-class? Good stuff. Whats UKD? Anyone know if F-class is shot anywhere else in the South Island?

Unknown distance. There's also misc other known distance precision shoots etc. As I say I'm only a new member so I can't provide a full list of what's shot and how often but since I joined it's been 300 meter precision (scoped rifle etc) which was rained off, Service rifle last weekend, action shoot next, then unknown distance long range.
