Looking into getting a FAL where do i go to shoot?

I'm Looking at getting a .22 mainly just for plinking and possibly a shotgun and I'm not quite sure where i would be able to go to set up some bottles, cans etc to shoot at max 10-20 meters. it seems DOC land is off limits for anything other than hunting im currently living Just out of Christchurch in the Waimak region any info would be much appreciated.

Must be a gun club down that way you can join? also ask the local hunting shops. A part from that is finding a private land owner.
Give the bottles and cans a miss and go buy or print off some targets, less mess to clean up.
Also go over to the new members and introduce your self etc etc so people know who you are

10 to 20m max, just get an air rifle to plink in the back yard (or even in the garage with a good wide thick backstop), no need for FAL if over 18. Cheap to shoot and confirms if you want to get more involved in shooting before committing many $$$.

another vote for finding a club near you. NZDA, smallbore, whatever.

you will meet like-minded people, there will be someone to give you some pointers and make sure you are safe. and you will get to see other toys so you can figure out what to buy next

+1 if you are only interested in such short distances. Cans are good to start with but quickly go for bottle caps. Forget the bottles.

In my view they never ever did.

I worked at a glass recycling plant for a weekend helping fix shit.
All I could think of was a smashing good time with a .22
    Use enough gun
