    Marlin 22 Magnum accuracy

A Marlin 882ssv 22 Magnum was given to me by a neighbour . Amazed to fire this group at 50 metres with Winchester 40 grain JHP. I remember years ago , shooting paper out at the local deerstalkers range with my old mate Micky Duck. He told me at the time my groups looked like a good 12 gauge pattern . Hard to know where to adjust the scope when there are bullet holes scattered all around the target. Amazing how a good trigger and benchrest setup helps in range shooting.

The Marlin rimfires are often very accurate and the WMRs are no exception. Trialled a model 982SV heavy barrel for couple of years recently and once barrel was 100% cleansed of copper it was a laser. Mate and I could both shoot 0.3" and under groups at 50m. His standard barrel Marlin WMR also shot the top out of a 1" dot at 50m. Key is keep barrel clean - needs to be done regularly as a centrefire - and use good quality ammos. Try also Hornady V-Max 30gr.

    Nice group

I've heard it quite a few times about how good the marlin 22wmrs shoot.
If I had the budget and could get my head around wanting a bolt over a semi they would be mint

    Good one.
I owned a Marlin 22LR, it was the most accurate sports 22 I have ever shot.
Marlin's Microgroove rifling does seem to be magic.
    mudgripz and EmpireSafaris like this.
