so I picked up my Marlin late last night and mounted the scope and rail, I levelled the scope and torqued it up this morning then took it to the range to zero it.
Well I've never had it so easy.... first shot with no adjustments I obliterated a coke can and thought maybe just a fluke, so I set up a paint tin and aimed for dead center and let off a second round.....nope no fluke, I've never had it so easy especially as it's not like I could bore site it.
On another note I bought some 170gn Winchester silver tips and the guy I bought them off threw in some unknown hand loads that I assume are 150gn of some sort by the writing on the box but no idea what projectile they actually are.
I wouldn't normally fire someone else's hand loads but the guy I bought them off assured me they were safe so they are the only 2 rounds I have put through it.
Can anyone identify what projectile they are ?
I spoke to a mate who suggested Winchester 150gn silvertips but none of the pics I found look like these and they also have a different primer to the 170gn silver tips.
will try the 170gns at some stage but didn't have time this morning
