Wow, over 24hrs! Any rest time or do you just keep going?
Bugger!
That drone footage is awesome, send it up to check the gongs
You get between 3 and 4 hours in camp. You carry a full kit, so easy to rest inbetween stages.
Looks like a lot of fun, great looking country.
Hi @Norway,
Can you please explain a bit more about the MSRC? It is held over 24hours, how many stages, how many shots, any night stages, is it all done in the field? Do you sleep in the field as well? What was the minimum gear required, etc.
Thanks!

Yes, a full summary will follow when I have digested all the film material.
It clocked in at 34 hrs.
It required you to bring 200 shots.
It was 14 stages?
MSRC started at 18:00 so most stages was night stages. Midnight sun = no darkness, only a big drop in temperature.
Sleep in a designated rest area, 3-4 hrs. Tents available there. Otherwise rest were you can. Many shooters would just lie down in a bivvi bag to catch a few minutes and get out of the wind.
Walk perhaps 20 km. All is up or down. Not hard, but timeconsuming and sweaty.
At the end, you get a night in the barracks to rest up before driving away.
What you need to shoot.
What you need to protect yourself from weather.
What you need for nutrition.
Sleeping pad and sleeping bag.
Pen & paper for stage instructions. Remember to ask and clarify any uncertainties.
Shooter tantrums or safety breaches gets you a transport to the rest area.
Staff goes out of their way to explain and make sure the stage is understood.
Staff has absolutely no mercy on scores if you make mistakes.
Being tired and making sound judgement is part of the MSRC.
This is designed to be relevant for backpack hunters.
Thanks @Norway
Very, very cool concept. A good round count over a good number of stages. The walking, the exertion, carry all your own gear, and straight up scoring make for a great individual competition.
I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the video that you got!

Here's the next one, shooting moving targets. This was too short and much fun.

Ahhh blinktroll... I can only but dream... one day
It would seem that what you have gained in ballistics with the 300NM you lost in the ability to spot your own shots...
