Mossberg mvp 223? Need a replacement for troy pump action, help

Hi current own an troy pump action 223, but look like we gonna hand it back soon, so looking for an alternative, can still use my ten round ar mag, and and my nice 1-6 razor scopes, plus mag pul back up sight, sling, stream light laser light, man I spent a fortune on accessories, need find a similar gun to fit all that.

Look like the choice be mossberg mvp, is it a good rifle? Never shot one before. Is there any other brand rifle we can legally own and fit all my accessories from above? Any advice be great thanks

Will our country allow some thing like this in the future?

All depends on what our anti-firearm po-po hierarchy decide is evil. Think they have tried to keep their options open for as long as possible just so they cant be subverted.
You see it in aussie when they bring in something that beats their rules.
I wonder if the order in council that taxcinda did for this purpose is kaput. Having to form a new govt an all, maybe that has to be redone?

Not if any parts are AR15 compatible (if I’ve read the ‘rules’ correctly)

I'm in the same boat, I'm planning on replacing my Troy with a Ruger American Ranch, the lifter tab on the bottom of the Mossberg's bolt puts me off somewhat. Although the Mossberg is better set up for accessories if that's your main concern. It might be worth tracking down a Ruger Precision Rifle in .223, It'll be heavy but have loads of real estate for go fast goodies.

Wasn't someone on this forum talking about modifying the Remington or Troy to a fixed mag set up? What happened to that idea?

That is a No. The upper is a semi auto upper and in effect makes it semi , stupid as it is .And the lower is capable of attaching to the upper making it no again , irregardless if it is not a semi lower , but then it can be made semi by removing parts . So Bugger.

There are straight pull Vz58 rifles coming in if that floats your boat more than a budget bolt action.

I think there's a shotgun in Aussie that functions in a similar manner, basically semi auto with a restrictor forcing the operator to manually release the bolt catch. The anti-gun crowd anted to get rid of it, but I thought it was still legal. If Australia allows it then something along the lines of this rifle in a version with no semi auto AR compatible parts should be legal. Australia still has appearance laws which we don't have any more, so an AR styled (but non-parts-compatible) rifle should be ok.

How practical would that be? I can't imagine it would be comfortable to use as the ergonomic essentials for manual reloading and auto reloading firearms are so different.

Video of VZ58 using a similar system halfway through this otherwise very depressing article. I don't like the look of double trigger pulls, seems like an accident waiting to happen.

I'm picking the lever release rifles would be prohib on the basis of being "near semi auto"

At what point does a bolt action become "semi semi semi auto"? But yeah they can do what they want by OIC then cofirm it with legislation that with their numbers will inevitably pass.

The gen2 Ruger Ranch rifles take the AR15 mags.
Good little rifles for the money.
