I still reckon those colimators are more for confirming a zero. IE you zero the rifle using lead, fit the colimator and take a note of where the crosshairs are. Then if you think you bump the scope or possibly have to change it, you could use the noted reference to check/rezero it
Only ever used one once like a bore sighter so moot point. An opinion only
