I always assumed you put it in and then held the gun in a vice and moved the scope to the dot at whatever distance. Not too sure because I've only ever done it like gibo

I would have thought a bore sighter, as it is not on a trajectory would go to infinity or as far as the beam reaches...I tried one (not nikko sterling) and each time it was removed and replaced it gave a different reading...I find it so much easier to remove a primer and fit the case into the breach and sight from there.
gadgetman, Pengy and Gibo like this.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

Do you mean a colimeter (sp). It should state it on the device but I'd guess 100y.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

My bad...I see they make laser and collimator...I was thinking laser...but they are both parallel, you set your own height through scope.

Never needed one. I use Gibo's method.
