NZDA SOUTHERN LAKES(QUEENSTOWN) RIFLE RANGE ENQUIRE

On behalf of the Southern Lakes NZDA i am creating this thread to see how many people, clubs, organisations, etc in this region will be interested to use the facilities. We don't know yet exactly what the dimensions will be as the branch has just put an application to the council for a possible venue.

Please, if you are in the Queenstown, central otago, southland or nearby areas and has interest in this "venture" leave your feedback and vote in the pool that suit you the mostly.

Thank you a lot for your feedback.

    oh hell yes!

being able to do target shooting regularly would be awesome. but being queenstown, being limited to weekends would be a massive downer. it needs to be 7 days access as not everyone is lucky enough to have a monday to friday job.

All good @Konev, I am in the same boat, this thread is to get as much information and interest we can from hunters and shooters in our region so we don't need to sight in or "practice" in "random" and insecure places or in private properties without proper infrastructure.
I hope we can get as much feedback possible to show the "authorities" why we need "the land".

I've been involved in the development of the new NZDA BOP branch range at the TECT All Terrain Park in Tauranga, which is on Council land so gone though all the pain and bureaucracy your just embarking on!.

Feel free to give me a PM if you would like get the background on how we went about the process. We have had to prepare quite a lot of documentation for Council including:

    -Development and overall management plans
    -lead and noise management plans
    -lease document
    -Range design and certification

I expect you will need to do the same, so hopefully we can save you some time

    Cheers

Hi Grant(@NZVarminter), Thank you so much for your offer, i really appreciate it.
I am just "the messenger" working together with my branch team, we need to build all the information regards how many users we may "get" and interest, "discipline", and all this kind of information, we are a very keen hunting and shooting group and we don't have a proper and suitable place to shoot, we also come across very dangerous situations where we see people shooting in places with no safety at all. We want and need to finish with it, it is our group main interest plus have a place to practice what we love, shooting.

I am passing your offer to the group and hope they can catch up sometime soon.

    All the best.

    Mac
