    Oxidized Copper?

Cleaned my gun the other day before finalising my load using 110g Barnes. Fired 14 rounds then pulled it out today(48hrs) to scope the barrel and saw a bit of this through it. I'm guessing it's oxidized copper owing to the colour....anyone share some tips/advice. Is it just a symptom of Barnes shedding a bit as they go down the tube??? This bore scope will be the death of me as a couple of members have already said.

Yeh, oxidised copper but the interesting thing is that the tracking suggests it wasn't engaged with the rifling at that point?!

I'd say that's Copper Sulphate, the sulphur coming from the gunpowder.

    Copper Oxide isn't blue.

I wasn't aware that smokeless powder leaves any sulphate fouling. Black powder leaves plenty of nasties, particularly potassium compounds.

    Copper solvents make it blue.
Ive only seen copper as yellow colour. I would have thought a few patches would pull out all that blue.
And i totally patch out the bore then put oul in and patch that out before putting a bore scope in. Borrowed scope.

Good photo. Very hard to get though a borescope.
