    This is what I do. When I'm dry firing I start with the gun out, no mag inserted, then perform a mag change as per normal. You just have to be honest with yourself that you're giving the mag release a proper hit, and it saves a ton of time picking up mags.

    It also means you don't have to worry about having a heavy mag bounce onto your foot when you're not wearing shoes.
