A question for the CDS pros

A mate has just splashed out on a nice 308 set up that includes a Lupy Vx5 with CDS set up for 150gn Sako amo.
It is (obviously) second hand, and the seller insists that it will dial just fine for any 150gn factory stuff.
I have my doubts as to the accuracy of that claim.
    What say you ?

test it, that sako stuff goes well in my mates 300wm, why not just stick with it

all 150gr 308 dosent magically fly the same trajectory, have the same bc, velocity ect so yea chances are unless he is wearing his lucky undies different 150gr will be different

Probably be near enough for a shoulder hold out to 400.
You would be a mug not to test whatever ammo you are using in it tho.

It will usually be in the kill zone, upto 300, but Sako ammo is the same price or cheaper than some of it’s competitors and there’s plenty about.

I’ve only just fitted my first CDS dial so definitely no pro, but if it’s doing the same speed and has the same BC it will dial the same, but that is unlikely. There won’t be a noticeable difference though at short to medium range.
As Gibo mentions, the original MOA dial should ideally be included with the scope.

As others have said. Should be close enough to 300, 400 might be pushing it. But you can figure out the difference and run an offset chart taped to your stock.

Ranged distange, then range that you need to dial for new ammo.

Should be the odd MOA dial hanging around?
