suppressor for both, unless gun is a 338cal or bigger then put a muzzle break on it
I use a suppressor all the time. No point shooting without it at the range because it just changes my POI.
I prefer to shoot with a suppressor on if I can. I find the lack of blast to be good for my shooting. Mirage off the suppressor can become an issue tho...
Shoot at the range how you would while hunting
Yeah it's a pain, and only takes a couple of shots too. Wonder if it's any better out of those suppressors with the three vents on the front?Quote:

Sort of defeats the purpose of owning one if you don't shoot it??
Shoot it with your suppressor on if thats how you hunt with it, your fellow competitors will thank you for it too.
Beaware some range officers won't allow rifles fitted with muzzel brakes on the line in competition as other competitors are badly affected by the blast.
I tried my Hardy over barrel suppressor on Saturday. Noticed a very real reduction in recoil / smoke /sound as you'd expect. Wont be shooting without it

Go with the suppressor. I run one on all my long guns now including my 338 LM and shotgun. They are the future and we are lucky we can own and use them in NZ. Would even like to try one on my pistol one day...
They come off? Always shoot with a suppressor, rimfire or centrefire. And yes they come off for the clean and storage.

Welding shield mat with canvas supressor cover and just some webbing over the barrel. I haven't had any problems with heat mirage since using these. With my suppressor, without the cover, i could pick up the heat mirage after about 6 shots and off the barrel after about 10 shots. i have now done up to 20 shot strings with no problems
Suppressor all the way... Sighted in with it on, and as others have said, easier on the ears for all in the area.... And game!!
takes me back when dad and I were checking zero - turn about, and we see piggies behind us, about 400m away, walking by not even bothered (or couldnt hear the shots)... Needless to say, dropped bags and ran and bagged one...
