Thread: rear bags/rests for field use

On a whim I bought a Redtac 1/2 pint bag.

Cost too much for what it is (freight was the killer). Nice and light thought. I think its filled with airsoft pellets. Get the boss to whip one up for you on the sewing machine. I also got the rear bag which is good off a bench (probably would get the pillow too if I did it again).

These bags are really stiff so mould to your stock well and are very stable. Mind you field conditions mean sometimes a rock or other solid thing needs to be wedged under it just to get it right. Often to get elevation you need to crank up a bipod which puts your shoulder about 2" into the deck hence the additional rear bag height.
