I know you shouldn't loose sight of your target once you have fired but is this really possible with large cals
i have a 7mm rem mag with a muzzle break and i cant control the recoil and loose the target almost always
Its a sako a7, is it the weight or do i just need more practice?

What make of muzzle brake are you using.
Kiwigreg is on this forum and makes what are probably the best side discharge muzzle brakes in this hemisphere.

Could be just with a cal that big on a light gun is booting too much still causing you to take you eye away from scope or hold it still.
Give kiwigreg a pm and he will tell you how your muzzle brake performs percentage wise in comparison to one of his T2 or T3 brakes.

Body position is key. I can keep the target in sight with my t3 7mm mag which is suppressed (100m). Are you finding it is jumping up on am angle out to the side? Get straight behind the gun (actually harder than it sounds) control the forend and you will be away. The brake will have more recoil reduction than my suppressed setup so address the technique before you go spending money
Have a look at the videos of Norway shooting a 338lapua and you will.see what proper body position does to control rifle movement

Horihunter, yes it jumps up and to the left. i thought i was straight behind but obviously not.
I know it must be technique so im going to join a rifle club. i was going to today but my relief milker cant keep his fists to himself.
I do have every faith in Robbies product it made the cannon 10 times better to shoot but i will still contact kiwigreg out of interest thanks 7mmsaum.
On a good note even with the problems i had my first 6 ever hand loads shot better than the Hornardy super performance woop woop.
But i did have pressure signs, flattened primers at the starting point of 65 gr. Should i stop there? the factory Hornady rounds also had flattened primers?
a little more weight would make it a lot easier to keep on target, but depending on the magnification you shouldnt loose sight picture, I didnt on my vx 1 on 12 power, but i do sometimes on 20 power on my new scope. but that is due to poor body position.
it is also a breaked 7mm mag. with a relitively inefficient boss break on it.
hey mite not be your problem but i was having trouble with my suppressed 308
when i was loading the bipod and firing it was moving forward (some times to left) loosing sight
a sand bag or better yet some spikes problem solved

Sounds like i need some more range time with the 7mm. Even suppressed I struggle when using the bipod to keep what i shoot in sight, but I am running a 24x scope on it. Nt that it ever really gets wound up that much.
I braked by 7mm Rem Mag after not being able to spot my own shots. The brake reduced recoil by 50%. Greg Duley did mine (not to start another GD v KG fight like the other forum) but it is a very nice 6 port directional brake.
I have videos of the rifle unbraked and then braked. the difference is very visible. I can now take a shot and watch the bullet impact.
I am running gunworks pod spikes, rear bag, cheek rest, timney trigger at 1.8lb. These all add up to making it easy to stay on target during recoil.
My advice is practice. The cheek rest should be set so you rest your cheek on it with your eyes closed, open your eyes and see no scope shadow. Try setting up a video camera to see what is happening??

Rounds down range, cheek rest and spikes will be a start. i cant get a good cheek weld my head has to sit up to high to see through the scope and im suspect about my length of pull i will have to research how to set that.

I find some times I see stuff fall off the scope and others have no idea if hit or not but usually is .I have trouble with my Tikka T3 forehand grip because the stock has no grip on it to mention.
Does anyone know how you could rubberise or help this. Bit weak plus reduced feeling in left hand grip due to various injuries / surgeries so I struggle to hold on at times if cold etc .
Picked up a single shot Thompson 7mm 08 break down and man the rubber on those is almost sticky. Id like to improve my stock somehow so it was super grippy at the forend any ideas ?

I use two pot araldite plus have a grubscrew in mine.
