Send it to Gunworks, back in 2 weeks
I thought it was near on impossible to wear out a .22lr barrel.
Or re-sleeve it with a barrel liner.
Cheers

It is. It's usually rust, or bulging from firing them with an obstruction in the barrel that kills them.
If you're looking at buying a second-hand rimfire, look down the outside of the barrel with your eye close and with some frontal light. This makes any possible bulges stand out.
Try Scott Traill at SSRNZ. He did an amazing job on a Rem 700 re-barrel for me.
Well priced, and top quality job.
Hi guys, thanks for your suggestion. I will contact them.
What happens is I have a CZ 452 scout that I want it rebarreled with
a bull barrel for target or even some benchrest shooting.
To import one Stiller 2500x I will pay $3000+ just for the action.
Stiller just sends a minimum of 10 guns at a time, so its not another option.
Also, I have contacted a few exporter in the US and the cheapest for one gun
was $1600 including shipping, so I dont have any other way other than that to
have a custom 22LR. If I am not mistaken, oz rimfire shooters do that with
CZs. Keen to pay the price to see if there's any benefit. Who knows...
Thanks again.
Cheers
i would just buy a CZ Vamint . . . but thats probably just me, any excuse to buy another rifle
Why not send it to truflite to re-barrel with one of their rimfire barrels ?
thanks again guys!
I will probably buy the 452 scout, the cheapest in the class to get the job done. I thought about the 455 but if it wasn't too expensive and hard
to get one drop in barrel from Lilja, I would certainly buy one.
Trueflite didn't answer my emails and I have been contacted by Greystone Guns though. Have any of you heard about them?
I stay away from the inflated prices from GC. Prefer Reloaders.
Cheers
I suggest you read The art of rimfire accuracy if you have not done so yet for your project.
The problem of the cz452 is that it has only one screw to hold the action in the stock.
The less serious of the benchrest crowd use Anschutz model 54 actions even the 64 action has a better trigger than the CZ's I would look around for an old Anschutz match rifle they pop up on TM all the time for not to much money, or go retro and get a BSA International i match rifle they have one of the best triggers ever put in a .22RF
I'd look at a CZ 452/455 Varmint or a Weihrauch.
Probably be the same price to get a new barrel as it would be to get a whole CZ varmint.
What are you wanting to achieve?
Just a heavy barrel 22, or you striving for one hole group type accuracy?
Try ringing truflite , if they are anything like ME , I answer NO emails , ever , as thats not my job , my job is to run a plant .
Or Fax them .
