Ruger 223 all weather compact setup

Ok I have just purchased Ruger .223 All Weather compact (18" 1:8 Barrel) and I'm wanting to setup it for the occasional deer that I see on our property.
So get that word occasionally which is also another word for cheaply
Average distance would be 100 -150 yards, longest is 250-300 yards for clear shot.
I have a 3x9 scope that I'm about to pinch from my 10/22, but unsure as to "Should I put a suppressor on it" for that occasional shot ??
I also see that Hornady .223 55gr V-Max Varmint ammo gets a reasonable thumbs up for price and Velocity, any one have any other suggestion for ammo ???

the hornady training ammo or Katapo ammunition are cheap and better suited to deer size animals than the v max.
