Safe 50m centerfire reactive target

Hi everyone, I’m currently looking around for a reactive target that’s safe to shoot at 50m with a variety off centerfire rifles. It needs to be able to take quite a few rounds without the need to reset anything as it will be a target for multiple shooters throughout the day. It’s for a hunters practice shoot. Around 4-5 inch would be ideal, it’s just for informal practice off off hand shooting.
I have seen those rubber cubes and balls but not a whole lot else just wondering if anyone knows off anything else that’s available in nz currently. Or does anyone know off any shops that have a good selection off reactive targets. Otherwise I have a few diy ideas I will try.
I assume steel is unsafe at 50m with a centerfire hunting rifle so rubber or something similar

That is actually quite a lot of fun as if you hit them in the right spot it explodes from the shock wave.

Hi thanks for the suggestions, I had thought off both off those but decided against them as it takes too much time to keep opening and closing the range to go forward and replace them. It’s for this reason where not using paper targets either. Will be shooting 50m,100m,200m,300m and 450m hopefully. All the other distances are just gongs so that’s easy (no need to score or reset anything) was hoping to have something similar at 50m so the range can stay open and you just switch distances.

The only thing that would fit your bill would be some sort of electronic device. The military use them all the time as it saves a shedload of time. A geek on here may be able to suggest something.

spraypainted lump of firewood.......tin cans..tin not alloy so they will take a LOT of punishment...hospitals/oldfolks homes use the big watties tins base is about 6" across.....place a stake in ground and push tin down over it,should be able to register impact without bother ....
bowling pins are used a lot for this as reset them selves..not sure how or where you would get them suitable for centrefire,sprung loaded maybe??

You can go steel I reckon.
Just make sure it is at a wicked angle to deflect everything straight down.
And no craters in it.

I am thinking aloud here, but something like ar500 etc on a 45 degree slant should handle pretty much anything you throw at it, and at any distance you shoose.

I think I might try cutting a 5inch gong shape out off a old tip truck tyre and hang it like a gong. That way the steel wire inside will help stop it disintegrating and make it solid enough to get a good swing on when hit but the bullet should still just pass through. Pretty sure I have a big ole truck tyre lying around….just got to remember where I put it.

tip truck tyres you should get a chuck nearly 5" in all directions,teather it loose so it can bouce off when hit but not leave target area... being able to move might make it last longer,but it would take a lot of punishment before unusable as a target hanging on a chain would be the ultimate.....

Old truck mudflaps or sections of heavy conveyor belting.
