    SAVAGE ACCU-TRIGGER

I have a savage 110 'scout' in 308, and while it is a handy and accurate rifle, the accu-trigger system annoys the heck out of me, somehow I keep tripping the trigger blade and locks up, also when working the bolt in a hurried or semi aggressive manor will result with the trigger locking up. Cost me a deer in the weekend first shot missed, worked the bolt for a sitter second shot and yep trigger locked up and deer away. Is there anyway to replace the trigger system?
    thanks in advance.

Yeah mate I feel you pain, the way I pull the trigger when shooting prone doesn't work well with the accu.trigger system, locks up & is a pain n de arse, it's a simple fix though

Just pop the pin that holds the blade & trigger together & pull the accu blade out, you're left with a trigger with a grove in the middle but works fine.
Barefoot, mudgripz and csmiffy like this.
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

Hunting and Outdoors show Timney on their website, you need to make contact as they show many items that haven't been in stock for years, find it a "pain in the arse" site. Have a couple of Accu-triggers, never had any problems you state.

Not meaning to be rude but isn't the solution "learn to use the trigger" properly?

I have a Savage Model 12 with Accu-trigger and have never had a problem with it.

Like many things that sounds like a sensible solution hahaha, but as seems to be the way people think nowadays theory is better than practice

I've had bush rifles with accu-trigger & was fine but I found the last two 110's not so great, the problem pops up ( especially when under pressure , as they do ) I think the blade pull on the new Sav's are far to long & doesn't suit the way I pull the trig from the side ( especially with the long reach from pistol grip - trigger ) I still think its a great system on a stalking rifle though.

The blade locks up/activates the failsafe when you apply pressure to the main trigger before depressing the centre blade fully. Usually as a result of pressing with the side of your finger rather than fully wrapping your finger around and pulling directly back. If you can train yourself to use a different grip position in a way that brings your finger more directly back against the trigger then this should tidy this up for you.

But if you just want a traditional style trigger instead, there are drop-in aftermarket options.

I like the accutrigger, works really well for me, but I did have the same issue a couple of times very early on. Trained myself to use a better grip, and haven’t had a problem since.

I like the idea of the accu-trigger and when I use it on the range 95% of the time works just fine, my main concern is when working the bolt, slow and steady , great .Work it hurriedly or vigorously the trigger locks up and I have to flip up bolt handle to unlock trigger. Most of my hunting is bush hunting so any delay can cost particularly a follow up shot.
Probably need to do more range/hunting to train finger pull. My other rifles with normal trigger 100% work every time.
thanks for the replies fellas, may look at a new trigger, or may put back into safe and use the mighty .270 BLR instead.
