    Savage Model 3C

    Amongst my old 22s I have a Savage single-shot, Model 3C.

    Trigger pull is about 10lb!

But potentially more exciting is the cracks each side of the bolt that I’ve just noticed, it’s where the bolt body steps down (or up depending how you view it!) a bit behind the bolt handle, as the lug where the bolt handle fits to the bolt itself is on front of the crack are I doubt the bolt will fail and blow back.

I’m stymied as to how the crack has happened unless it’s due to the load the mainspring puts on it? - it takes considerable effort to twist the striker from the fired position to the cocked position.
