does anyone shooting 1km use an anti cant/scope level?
it has been suggested to me by mates that do to get 1 to help me.
opinions? I assume they’re necessary?
makes/models suggestions?
Cheers

Not so critical if you're NRA shooting as multiple targets means it's obvious if you're out of whack. Field shooting is a bit different.
I run them on all scopes. A nice cheap option is one from aliexpress in your desired size
Yes. With 30moa dialled on, a 1° cant will move the POI L/R by approximately 150mm.
Yep use them regularly. highly recommend doing tall target test to verify they are setup correctly. only issue with ones that have a air bubble as an indicator on match rifles, under heavy recoil they will become many little bubbles....
Yep, got them on my 4 F Class rifles. Nothing on my sporters. See @Puffin comment.
Whenever I see them on a sporter though "bling" springs to mind.
Initially I used US Optics ones. They attach to the picatinny rails and you hinge them out to use them. I was forever forgetting to swing them back in after a shoot so eventually they were going to get damaged. Also I had to dick with them with thin shims to get them to indicate level. I set up my scopes to be plumb thru the bore centre - scope centre and sometimes the picatinny is not exactly level even on a Barnard.
Now only use scope attached levels. They are easier to see when behind the rifle. Also like the fact that when you remove the scope from the rifle for any reason the level stays attached and assists in aligning the scope again when remounted on the rifle.
As far as brands, my current ones are Vortex. Have also used generic no name ones and they were OK. Prefer the brands that have fine thread clamping screws.
Yep, I do the tall target test. Haven't had any where the bubble broke up into lots of smaller bubbles. Maybe this is a viscosity issue with cheaper ones.
Although having said that I did on one occassion have an Anschutz one on my smallbore rifle seperate out. Noticed when getting rifle out of case. I gave the rifle a shake and all came good.

Thanks all for the time and replies. very much appreciated.
Very handy on uneven ground in the hills when you have no frame of reference for what's level. It's really easy to have the rifle canted a fair amount despite doing your best to correct it.
I'd bet a lot of people miss blaming some unfelt wind when the problem is actually a canted rifle.

Maybe but the vast majority would have been bad wind calls
For 1km yes. Takes $30 and then you know you're wind call learning properly (not introducing local conditions to your concept of how much to hang off the target)
