Shooting videos - Mark and Sam after work

    Hello Guys

One of the blokes who does very well at the likes of the Mountain Challenge and Jungle Lane shoots put me onto the above video's. I've just watched this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3q_pfiF4X8 about shooting prone - he certainly does things a bit different to the way I shoot on the range, but his points are well thought out and his results speak for themselves (unless he's a cunning Aussie just taking the piss and setting things up).

    Cheers

I met up with Mark when I lived in the Wheatbelt in WA. This will be over 6-7 years ago? He’d just started doing videos and my shooting mate Steve got wind of it and knew someone who knew someone.

It’s a lonely life out in the Wheatbelt if you haven’t got a likeminded partner and something to pass the time, so they’ve gotten lucky big time.

I remember enjoying the visit, but it’s not for me, this ELR business. It’s the realm of über ballistic nerdism. But they know their shit, no doubt about that. Subsequently I’ve been impressed with how they have demonstrated the capabilities of regular budget brands as the basis for a lot of their builds, and not gone full time custom ridiculousness. Some of the improvisations Mark has designed are quite cool.

It’s a helluva achievement in many ways, because the WA licensing laws are tough as they these two must have done some serious hard yards with their Firearms Officer, because every single firearm needs a “genuine need” and a separate licence, god knows how many times they must have been through that palava in the early days. I assume now there’s some kind of dealer or corporate licensing involved, something like that.

Not my cup of tea either, but opportunities to learn are rare enough . . . . Thanks for the background.

    He makes sense to me.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

They make some good vids. I really like their long range .22lr ones.
