awesome stuff man short barrels can certainly shine in the rem mag we had a 22" going quicker than any rem mag iv ever heard of 3180fps ave with 162 eldx

Yes with a very big pressure spike on one round so back down it came to 70gns

What powder?

So what’s seems to be the best powder for these short barrel rem mags.
R26, R23 or one of the adi powders

@Breingan i used 2213sc in my 24" tikka, shot 9mm groups at 100m and gave exceptional FPS. no need to use fairy dust (RL powder)

@Breingan both me and a mate use Rel 23 from short rem mags to good effect. Another mate has just done a load for his rem mag after following trend and using Retumbo (aka 2225) has got 2950 fps from his 20” barrel. There are others that would be worth trying too like Rel 26 but those are just what we are using. I’m yet to have an issue sourcing Rel powder and funnily enough certain adi powders are in short supply atm.

You can say that again, sounds like December now for the powder shipment. That's if the US doesn't hover it up too.

The couldn’t find my post for part 1 of this (I may not have done a post lol). Just thought I would give an update on this load/rifle that it’s now running at 3000fps for the 21” barrel which makes a bit more sense as my mates 20” barrel runs 2970fps with the exact same load.

162 ELD-X and Rel 23

First KG of N560 went well in my 22" Rem Mag barrel - 3100 @ 73 gr. Brought a new batch of powder 73 was too hot and backed of a gr circa 3070 - that "new" batch was brought in 2015 so I would caution against starting anywhere near these loads now.
