    Sighting in with a suppressor

Hi all, this maybe a silly question,
I have just had my barrel shortened and threaded for a can,the scope was removed for the process,
My question is,would I be better to resight it without the suppressor then once it's zeroed add the can and adjust for the change of point of impact or screw the can on from the get go,
    Any advice appreciated,

put it on,sight it in,go shoot stuff.....it will probably smoke a bit for first few shots (burning off oils in can) it will probably shoot about 3-4" below where it was before...eg using a bore sighter/collimetre my Xhairs are now on centre not 3 squares above as they were before suppressor.
once you are sighted in,take suppressor off and fire two rounds into target...you will learn two things
#1 where it shoots with out suppressor (probably about 3" higher)
#2 the thing is plurry loud and ears are ringing.....dont do that again.

If you're gonna use it with the can on, sight it in with the can on.

I would just add that you should sight in with suppressor on, then remove it
, and replace it and shoot another for to make sure that it doesn't shift point of impact. If it does, you may need to add index marks to barrel and suppressor to help with consistency. This shouldn't really be an issue at normal hunting range but at longer ranges, could become more of an issue.

I did it the other way, got it sighted in without the can, then put the can on and make the final adjustments. Less wear and tear on the can, depending how many shots it takes you to get sighted in. My rifle shoots high and right with the can compared to without.

Also put some shots into target without can on after you have sighted in using can just so you know where bullet is hitting if you need to take a shot without can on for some reason.

Sighting in with the suppressor, fine if you have the load and it's within cooee, if starting from scratch with factory ammo I would shoot to sight in then put the suppressor on and finalize.
Load development with the suppressor, not for me.

If it is threaded right, there should be very little in it. It will only really manifest at longer range, where every small inconsistency is magnified exponentially as range increases. For hunting purposes, within 200m, you probably won't see anything different.

never noticed a difference AT ALL with taking it off then going back on....think about it....IF there was going to be a difference well then you would have to sight in AGAIN EVERY time you put it back on.....yeah nah not a happening thing, its done up tight, same each time.

It shouldnt, most of the time you will have a different point of impact shooting with it on or shooting with it off, but every time you put it back on it should shoot the same place as every other time you’ve had it on. Wouldn’t be practical if it didn’t.
