    Signature zee rings

Any opinions out thete on the relative zero hold using these
insert type rings compared to alloy or steel rings?

@Woody, been using them for years and never had any issues.

More insert options available for 1 inch than 30mm, but remember you can use opposite inserts front and rear to double the effect. Insert can also be used at 90 degrees to correct lateral issues - so you can get the wind zero on your scope in the middle of the dial range.

Bloody brilliant, use them on just about every boom stick I have & the wee inserts protect the scope really well.

i have them on every rifle i own bar the 10-22 which is running leupold prw's (which I don't really rate to be honest great once mounted but pretty much always scratch the tube getting them on as they kinda snap on over the tube)
the z rings are fantastic no issues with holding zero and the best thing is they are very unlikely to leave ring marks but still don't over tighten them 20-25inlb is plenty

Use them on every rifle where possible including on my F Class stuff up to 284. Never ever had a scope shift. The only thing I do is modify the cross bolts by tapping to the next size up in metric and use cap screws instead of the small slotted head screws.

They can be a it of an arse fitting the scope. You need to tighten the screws like a cylinder head, a wee bit at a time on each screw or turn screws opposite each other simultaneously otherwise the scope may rotate slightly in the rings.

I also lightly lube the outer shells taking care to not get any lube on the inner surfaces.

I run only Sako Optilocks or Burris Z Sig or Burris XTR rings on my rifles. All with the plastic inserts. 1", 30mm and 34mm.
Great hold, no need to lap the rings and don't mark the scopes.

I have one set, but I always wondered if it is such a good idea then why the rest do not follow? Why do we have 400 dollar "precision" rings?

For guys who need to put all the flashest gear on there rifles as though they are trying to make up for something

The truth of it is you won’t see any advantage over a $130 set of z rings unless you’re running a 50bmg or something else massive
For normal caliber’s including large magnums once you have a solid set of rings like burris z or meany other options that won’t move that’s as much money as needs to be spent

Ok. Was a fine day and fine company at TePuke 600yard shoot today. Here are couple pics. I was shooting a testoad of 165grain Sierra gamekings out of my Schultz and Larsen M65dl .308 Norma Magnum. The rifle is 56years young. The wind was l-r 10-15mph variable and windage varied 2-5 moa. You can see on the target how once I got the elevation correct with s1 & s2 that shot #2 went left 2moa during a quick windspeed drop. However the shots # 1,3,4 are less than 3/4moa group and the tested sd is pleasing. Pis are of test group and rifle. The group was shot off the pack, hunting style. No rear support was used.
