    Somewhere to shoot 22LR

    Hi all.
Does anyone know of somewhere (South Auckland or North Waikato) where my wife and I can go to shoot our .22 Target rifles on week days. The clubs etc are starting to get expensive and demanding of our time, (ie working bees or pay more money). As I work shift work and lots of weekends we want somewhere that we can just drive to, set up some targets, fire off 50-100 rounds each, pack up and head home. We will fit suppressors if required.
My wife has some medical issues which means she bench shoots (taking our own table and seats are not a problem)
Any help or ideas would be great

How can you find out if your club is a participating one?

TSSC fits your requirements specially during the week but a long way to drive from Auckland. Quite a few people do but it’s a solid day trip so you have to be keen.

Essentially it’s NZDA and you could join the south Waikato branch which is local. Make contact through the NZDANational website and ask whether you could get an associate membership on the basis of TSNZ membership. Sth Waikato NZDA shoot Olympic like 4P although numbers are small.

In the old days we used to bike around the countryside and stop and actually ask permission to shoot on farms,(we didn’t have cars or a lincence)as long as you are well presented and polite you shouldn’t have to much trouble finding a farm, some will say no but you only need one to say yes..not like you are shooting cannons or loud weapons .
