    Sons with guns

There is a 'girls shooting' thread already.
I could not find a thread for young boys shooting stuff.

Anyway. Young Monty shooting a cannon for the first time! Lucky little man.

My boy shooting a 44 Magnum a couple of years back. He would have been 9 at the time.

Mate you got there in the end. Monty rocking the red bands and firing a cannon tells me he will be a good old Kiwi bloke when he matures. Good on ya!

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

I've seen a few references on the forum alluding to 40mm and things that go BOOM! but this is the first picture I've seen.

What a great piece of field artillery, I can almost smell it from here.

For a young fella growing up with that in the arsenal - I can only imagine how much fun it would be.

    Nice work Dad!

For those of you who don't know 40mm, if there is powder and/or flames involved, stand further away than that, because he is a one man pyrotechnic show. It will be spectacular.
That really depends on what I have been eating...

Oh, I wish it was mine! I have a few projects and a crude cannon that fires coke cans full of concrete about a KM.

But that is one of about 100 a good friend has built over the years, his cannon are spread all over the country. A lot of them are built around a section of 40mm Bofors barrel.
Guns like that have no problem perforating both sides of 9kg LPG bottles, sending liquid and vapor in all directions and the bottle usually flying/spinning spectacularly for a good five/ten meters.
Think lead ball slightly bigger than a golf ball....
