Sparrowhawk NZ - Specialists in real world firearms training and mindset

    Home

I had never heard of them before. Does anyone have any experience with them? I wasn't thinking of going on one of their courses but cool to see someone in NZ offering this sort of thing.

I see Shane with his Gunslinger competitions is running a shooter/spotter shoot with them next year:

    Gillie,

That sparrowhawk website is a bit scary.

    No address
    No contact number
The link to their "application form" does not work

And most importantly, no info on the background and skills of the "instructors".

I'd be extremely cautious before handing them any money. Lots of wanabee tacticool guys out there. Not saying that is the case here, but I'd rather see a "pedigree" you can check and references...

If you want practical 3-gun type training info, rather go to your local IPSC club. Most of the guys there would be happy to help you out for free...

I looked up SPARROWHAWK NEW ZEALAND in the companies directory, the owner (1 of 2 directors) of Sparrowhawk NZ seems to be linked with Shenley Station (South Canterbury), the other director is his lawyer (I'm guessing). Can't find much else about them on the web.

Not enough market here for them to be running regular courses i suppose. Would be neat to see what is covered in their courses though.

Not sure i'm all that keen to pay $1090 to see what is in the course (precision rifle). It would be nice to see an outline of the course and atleast a location it is held in, or did i miss that info on the website?

I've meet Rit Fisher before. He seem's a pretty decent, straight up, sort of chap. Could be wrong but I think he may have served in the Army (Officer?) - They quite often have Army exercises on Shendly Station as well.
