Very interesting and gets around noise concerns going across the highway
Cant see our funless police and nimbys agreeing though.

I can see the gongs at Cable bay range clearly from my place, but they are on the other side of the valley with a road in between....and I dont have the cal to reach

many years ago the old Wairoa rifle range had its 800 and 900 yard mounds above the road yes it was made eventually to close those mounds

DON'T for a moment imagine the gun controllers are all "hysterical". Many of them will phone in anything gun related solely to turn up the heat on shooting sports, sensitize NZ police to a perceived "public fear" and "public expecfation" to be seen to take guns seriously. A little hyperbole when doing the 111 call will go unpunished.

Done often enough such malicious calls will eventually have a "murder by cops" outcome.

I thought there be an option at Transmission Gully. To late now, but should have been in the plan. Motorcyclists could be like running boar targets and points……….haha

Reckon the cyclists would be a starter, just put the track next to the range and they'll take a shortcut every time!
