IS THERE A RIFLE RANGE IN TIMARU?

Is there a rifle range in Timaru? Deerstalkers? Anything? I know there is a couple of small bore ranges, but anything for sighting in high powered rifles?

there was a nzda one at pleasant point years ago..think its still getting quiet useage from posted photos on here.
they then shifted to maungati not sure who to contact for access...
police have another one on other side of hill /pareora gorge again not sure who to ask for access
the defacto area people have used for 40 plus years is fine if no body around....being public beach its one of those grey areas...if your sensible no issues...if you behave like a dick, not so much.

Aoraki range should be going soon hopefully, But the best range complex in NZ is just down the road. Sparrowhawk just up from albury.

A lot of disinformation relating to historical, and closed ranges-except Sparrowhawk.

The Aorangi Range is now being developed as the Seadown Shooting Complex. Existing pistol ranges are certified and in use. Two 100 metre ranges are awaiting cerification when a new police certifier is appointed. Then an induction program will be put in place.

There is also a sporting clay range waiting for certification.

The Pleasant Point Rifle Club is also waiting for certification for two 100 metre ranges One will be for sighting in, the other for group events. They are at different locations. The PPRC is membership based
