    Thermal elevation test.

Thort il test my elevation with thermal clipon on in the dark.Got a small tin filled with hot water and taped it up.Had a old sock in fridge so that was stone cold.Had tin in sock hung on target board over my target.
Shot to left of tin, only using horizontal line right of dot for elevation.Didnt want to shoot my tin up.Zero elevation ok at a 100yds,very good at 200yds n ok group. Not that I was shooting for groups only elevation checks.

Had scope on 5x for 200yds.I reckn 200yds far enough for shooting in the dark.Could shoot further but don't need to.

Is that a "mildot" reticle and did you use holdover? as your 100 and 200 poi are the same, you've got to be pleased with that

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Heard a guy use a tealight candle for something similar - but would not of thought about dialling a few to one side to test. That's not a bad idea!

Manage to get a 300yds practical drop group in the darkness.Only 9.3 inchs, but iv off set my 100yd zero up 1 inch.I reckn the weight of the 630gram clipon slowing down the recoil bounce 5or 6mm when firing= 1" at a 100yds.So what iv done works for
    100yds zero
    200yds dial up 2 inchs.
    300yds dial up 3 inchs
    400yds dial up 6 inchs.
If I back set my zero, it be day time zero.
Doesn't matter in day time I know I'm 1inch high of zero anyhow.
Green dots my drop from top of hot tin.
