    TRG 338 on song!

After years of shooting clay pans steel and paper I finally decided it was time to have a crack at some live game.
I will say now that the preperation and skills for a shot like this has been a long time coming and not taken lightly out of respect for the animal.
To cut along story short every thing has been verified out to the target distances we set our selves.
We went out sat afternoon and drove past some red stags still soft at about 450 but we had a plan!
You guessed it not a bloody deer insight where we would usually see 20.
The next day of we go trying to get my 10 year old on to an easy one which he gave a second chance we carried on and got onto some fallow that were in the money.
I wanted my mate to shoot as its his property and I had the pride of setting up my rifle for long range shooting as well as he is a very competent shot and he lets us come and grace his farm shooting and motor bike riding with his kids and ours.
We got comfortable with me spotting through the 6.5 and making the windcalls when to shoot.
With 28.75 of elevation and .75 of spin drift +.75 of wind he let strip!
I was thinking to myself after the shot, shit that must have missed by a longway as they didnt even move!
But wait! All of a sudden there was deer bouncing around every where with one impiticular doing the upside down dance of death!
It was quite a feeling of satisfaction to have put together a first round hit with the distance been a not to shabby 1095 yards.
A great team effort with my turn on the trigger next!
This photo is taken on 4 power on my phone
The boys went out on sat evening while the adults were long ranging in the next block to get a stag in the velvet and came back with this to put on a wall mount.thank god not the big boys we been seeing!
My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!
