    Update from Steves Wholesale

Bad news from the USA last night - our 40' container of Hornady and our other brands has had the shipping canceled. Instead of arriving late October it will now be Jan 2022..
It's a terrible situation even getting stock of the likes of 6.5PRC, 7MM08, 17 HMR and 6.5 projectiles to then take 6 months to get here.
I'm sorry for everyone effected in many ways. We are going to airfreight over some reloading tools and other goods to help.
Very few ships are wanting to come to NZ, and I'm sure the Auckland waterfront and Covid are playing a part in this.
We need to open up NZ quickly and learn to live with the covid flu, there is no other choice now.

Makes it very tough for wholesaler importers. They have my sympathy.

4 weeks wait for ships on the US coast to dock, so i heard from one of our shipping companies. NZ is being dropped altogether from schedules due to the very attractive offers for ships to ply the China_EU/US routes for xmas.

A usual update from a shipping agent says something like "Inbound prices going up another $500/container, as they have been every fortnight. Delays 1 week longer again form these countries X,XX,XXX. XXXX is not even responding to or accepting any further shipping orders until Nov 2021. Were doing the best we can but another shipping line just ditched NZ, hoping to re-route via Sydney..." and its been this way for months.

Another big issue is the demand for empty containers in China means the shipping companies make more money carrying those from the US (where they arrived full) back to china for a quick return rather than sail all the way to NZ with a full load.....meaning possible shipping issues due to economics of sailing. Add to that the long delays in getting unloaded here adding to the shipping companies costs with no way of recouping it compared to a drop off in China....(Someone sad there was 445 ships waiting to be processed at AKL port- not sure if the number is accurate but I do know there are big delays...And it is not just due to covid (though it is not helping...) Some of these issues were forecast 5 or 6 years ago and the predictor was poo-poo'd because everyone thought he as trying to justify charging more for shipping....

Freight pricing has gone through the roof. We just handed a 40 foot of Sako Ammo and the shipping charge was not pretty!

Unfortunate not. Just like all manufacturers, components are an issue. For that PRC round, Projectiles are not available.
