Virgin shots with my new 223 Ruger Compact

Well finally got hold of a 223 Ruger All Weather Compact & some ammo. Fitted up my 3x9 scope off my 10/22 nothing flash.
Then proceeded to sight it in @ 100yards across our gully, with some cheap Hornady rounds from H&F.
Wasn't ready for the report from the shot, sounded worse than my SKK and 7.62 Karabiner I used to have.
Definitely going to have to put a Suppressor on it, no sneaking up on a deer and missing, yeah I know make the first shot count !!!!!

    You're shooting practice with earmuffs?

Lighter the weapon the bigger the recoil usually..I put a DPT suppressor on my hunt rifle and it helps carrying in a shorter unit as it snags on less branches on the track then once you're hunting screw it on and you're away

Hmm Earmuffs where absent at the time, but this arvos practice will be muffed. I have got a Suppressor coming but threading may take a week or so.

Is it a Hawkeye compact or an American compact. I loved those Hawkeye compacts in laminate. The American compact looks a nice lil rifle.

Its the "American All Weather Compact" in s/s Model 6939. Spec are Ruger American RifleŽ All-WeatherŽ Compact Bolt-Action Rifle Model 6939
I like that's its small, just a little short in the stock for me, long armed chimp (according to the mrs), but seems to work ok so far.

Yeah well I can't say that I'm all that impressed either, trying to sight in scope and they are bit all over the place.
The pack says that they are "Hornady 223 rem 55gr sps", so go figure ??
