    YouShop sucks

This is my response to YouShop who will not ship a picatinny rail to NZ:

Thanks for your response Alice. I will not be using YouShop again and where possible not be using NZ Post*in NZ. The stance*NZ Post*has taken around all things Firearms related even when the items* are not excluded from export from the USA nor restricted from being freely imported in NZ is extremely disappointing. Firearms and all shooting* related sports in NZ are legal. Gun ownership with a firearms license is legal in NZ. There is a long history of firearms use in NZ both to put food on the table, pest management and as a legitimate sport, Natalie Rooney*won a Silver medal at the 2016 Olympic games shooting. I wanted to make my views quite clear, this anti-gun policy that NZPost has taken is unfair and will in no way reduce the rates of gun related crime in NZ 99% of which is carried out by unlicensed gun owners. All it is doing is driving good kiwis away from using NZPost. I will supply you an alternative address in the USA that my package can be forwarded to.

So what other options do we have guys apart from relying on mates over there to send us stuff cos I will not be using these dick heads again for anything EVER!!

I have frequently appealed to youshop and told them its not a firearms part, I got a rail over buy explaining I needed the part as a laser alignment device for aligning an engine drivetrain.

To be honest, and I am not getting at you personally, but I don't know why people are still using YouShop. You have just joined a long list of disgruntled customers of there service. The application of their policy is well documented for some time on this and the other forum.

They gave me the old dangerous goods treatment about 2 years ago for an item that wasn't in any way firearms related nor a dangerous good.

Your venting will only make u feel better but will have no affect otherwise. The outfit in Oregon is a huge worldwide freight fowarding contractor who just supplies the service to NZP (an similarly to Oz Post). At Oregon they also appear to have no firearm experts there so anything of doubt just gets the dangerous good label and the offer to destroy the item or to return to sender at your cost.

There were 2 other freight forwarders mentioned either on this or the other forum which posters praised but when I looked at their fine print they too covered themselves against firearm parts. No doubt other forum posters will be able to advise on alternatives.

BTW in the early days of YouShop I brought scopes and reloading dies thru them with no hassles.

They're cracking down on everything. My mate couldn't even get a mountain bike shock sent through them. Had it redirected though to me, took it down to usps and no issues.

Ordering direct from brownells if it's something they stock is the simplest way to get stuff because they just ship it direct via usps.

When you search you can filter on things that can be shipped internationally. When you look at an item it lists it's restrictions and you want to see "gun parts over $99 can't be shipped outside of the US" which means it can be if it's under $99.

USPS shipping from them is normally $20 for small stuff.

They review your order, remove anything that they can't ship and then calculate and add shipping. You don't see the shipping cost at the checkout so you have to have a little faith.

It's the perfect place to buy parts for the AR you are about to purchase.

When they come for your AR, I will still have my Marlin lever action.

Weird I managed to get a picitinny rail and set of rings from the states via them just the other day. It took ages, but it got here in one piece and no issue with them shipping. That said it came via ebay not a firearms store.

Don't shoot me for saying it but Youshop just contracts the service to a freight forwarding company and therefore forced to comply with their rules.

Someone needs to move to Murica to consolidate shipping containers of orders and forward it to nz for us
