    Afternoon All

    Hey guys (and girls),

Though I have already dealt with/ met a few of you, I thought I'd better finally display some basic manners and properly introduce myself to the masses. My name is Pat and I'm living up in Auckland at the moment, having lived all over NZ for the last few years.

I've used the forum as an information resource for a while (and would have saved myself a lot of time, effort and money if I had started doing so earlier) however I have only relatively recently joined, to try and be a bit more active on the forum.
I've been shooting for a while, mainly pests, the annual duck hunts, a bit of pistol shooting and the occasional hillbilly target shoot but just before I moved up here from Christchurch I was starting to get into a bit of open country hunting/ armed tramping).

Being a relative stranger to Auckland, the land of the lifestyle block and general firearms phobia, I'm still sussing out the best way forward in terms of pursuing this pastime.

Although to date my personal schedule, and Auckland traffic, hasn't permitted it, my cunning plan is to give one of the NZDA HUNTS courses a go and work from there. I am also interested in eventually getting into the service rifle shooting/ IPSC side of things as well.

Primarily I'm here to learn, pick other people's brains and hopefully get to meet some like minded people to conduct some sweet activities (without angering the girlfriend so that she decides it all needs to be sold)

    Cheers

    Pat

Sharp pick desert rat, the other kind of ubique though, a sapper. Not even going to get into the "all over the place" vs "everywhere" debate, no doubt that would bring them out of the woodwork

Correct northdude, sorry about the nonsense gibo. Unfortunately I am multilingual -fluent in cursing and work jargon but my English is questionable at best

Artillery and Engineers have the same motto (ubique: everywhere) and wear almost identical collar badges on their tunics.
