Another Jaffa with a license.....

Hey everyone, my names Simon and I'm fairly new to deer hunting. I love spearfishing and surfing (hence the name) and now deer hunting!

I travel all over the country to do what I love doing and since getting my license before easter, have been down to the Tararua's for 3 days under bivvy, a couple down in the Kaimanawa's and a few more down in Gizzy.

But alas, no deersies in the freezer yet!

If anyone could help me with this or needs a deer slaying companion (that is more companion than slayer) to travel somewhere with, count me in........I have accommodation just past Turangi if anyone likes stalking Sika......

Good to see your getting amongst it all too ..... Don't sweat about not getting a deer yet, everyone experiences this when they start out.

Keep trying and more importantly keep learning every time you go out .... Next thing you know you will be getting deer on a regular basis.

Have a think about joining up with a Hunting Club like the NZDA.

NZDA Auckland Branch

You will meet lots of like minded individuals who will be happy to help you along with your hunting career.

They also run Hunts courses where you can learn bush craft & survival skills while learning to hunt in a safer environment.

Auckland NZDA also has a range facility you could use, which will be handy for you.

And don't forget to let us know how your getting on.

P38 - I was looking into that and thought maybe the South Auckland branch out in Drury, but I'm not sure if they're still going? Otherwise I'll have be to be the Auckland branch proper........

Will hopefully be posting the "first deer" photo's and full (fabricated) story in the not to distant future........just have to get the deer first......:XD:
