G'day all,
New to the forum, had a couple of mates rave about it but I've never seemed to have had the time previously. Old man brought me up hunting and fishing from a young age, however I suspect like a lot of people I don't get to do it as much as I'd like to now. Mainly bush hunting in the Raukumara, Uratawa and Urewera but most success seems to always be on the edge of farms...! Also I'm sure if I tried to get back into fly fishing right now I'll probably end up with a fancy new earring.
Managed to go on a few trips to Stewart Island, one place where you can spend a week hunting/diving and come back heavier than you left. Knocked over a few of those sneaky whitetails, however I'm still not convinced there are any bucks on that island as in 3 trips I'm yet to see one. Being once into Fiordland, lot of effort and money to see a wop on a bluff about 3k away... Awesome place, every hunter should get there if they can. 0 from 2 on the sika, haven't chased those bastards since Air Charter Taupo stopped operating.
Will be good to gain a bit of knowledge from this forum and its members, share if I can. Might as well use technology to aid the age old pastime!
