    Hi everyone,

I’m a hunter wannabe, based in Kaiapoi. By a wannabe I mean I’m not a hunter but I want to be. I shot rabbits with my dad in my youth just outside my home town of Timaru. And always wanted to do more, but moved to the big smoke of Christchurch, moved a lot, started a family, the excuses go on. As a result I’ve never actually been hunting. But I’m hoping that I’ll work my way towards it, and it will be something that I can share with my children when they’re older ( and I know what I’m doing. And can include them safely).

I shot cowboy action at the Christchurch pistol club for a few years which was awesome but too expensive once the mortgage had to be paid so hung up my holsters. Loved cranking the lever rifle, and firing an old norinco 1897 pump shotgun from the hip.

I’ve already seen how awesome this forum is with the help and engagement I got on my Enfield charger thread, so I’m pleased to be here.

From one Cam to another welcome to the forum.
I am a wannabe too,I wannabe hunting and fishing but have to work and have kid commitments.
That said you are in a great region to get out there either hunting or fishing so get into it.
Many members in your region too so the best way to get a leg up is contribute in some way to the forum.

This confirms my suspiscion that 75% of NZ's hunting population are called Cam.
And 60% of all rifle builders are called Greg.
